We’ve all seen it, heard it and talked about it. It’s becoming a big problem and it’s slowly becoming worse. Animals are becoming extinct, habitats are disappearing and sea levels are rising. Islands are sinking underwater, that means more people will be homeless. Can’t you see? Global warming is a big problem.
Scene One: At home
I can see a small space and dim light. It reminds me of the burrows I have seen on tv that animals dig out as their home. I can see they are all huddled together sleeping so there is not a lot of room. The inside of the burrow is brown so it is dirt that has been dug under the ground.
Scene Two: First activity of the day
First they peek out of their burrows and scurries out. Then they spot a fruit and it's pink. It looks like a pomegranate and they squabble around and try to get it. Lastly one lucky meerkat strokes it lovingly like it was so precious, like an expensive gem. They stare at it hypnotised.
`Scene Three: A feared enemy
A vulture comes swooping in and lands on the branch, it flexes its claws and looks at the meerkats. Intimidating. The meerkats are scared, shooketh. Then vulture grabs the fruit with its strong sharp claws and flies away with the PRECIOUS fruit and the meerkats scurry behind, on the chase. Chasing after the vulture.
Scene Four:Enemies revenge
The meerkats try to grab onto the fruit and take it away from the vulture's STRONG claws, first the meerkats are unsuccessful, the vulture flings the meerkat off and then they decide to start grabbing onto each other and they make a trail. The vulture starts flying and tries to make them fall. The vulture lets go.
Scene Five:The Rescue
The fruit and meerkats start tumbling down, the meerkats gasp. Then it quickly becomes a game of catch and the meerkats succeed in taking the fruit. BUT they drop it and the vulture takes the fruit and flies into a rock. The meerkats GASP and look at their precious fruit tumbling down.
Scene Six:Sport nirvana
They catch the fruit and start passing the fruit and [INSERT COOL EPIC SLOW-MO MONTAGE]. They looked so proud they probably thought they looked cool.
Scene Seven:The End
The meerkat runs ahead and scores the goal, the others applause and and it falls and is a bad fruit now. The vulture flies crookedly into the distance.

Magpies are back and they're wrecking havoc!
It’s magpie season and those aggressive birds have been pecking and swooping down on posties, bikers, cyclists and pedestrians. Some encounters with these birds have been fatal. Don’t worry though! The Christchurch city council removes these aggressive birds safely without doing them any harm.
Cats are better pets than dogs. Yes, you could probably come up with a fair argument but don’t worry, dogs are cute too.
But you can't deny the fact that all cat aren't boring, aloof animals. If you still disagree, here are some amazing traits of a cat. They are so playful, they always play fight with each other, start wars with the neighbours cats and chase things around. When they do that, they are so cute!
Cats also purr when you give them hugs or when you let them sleep on you! When I facetime with my friend she always tells me stories about what happens with her cats. They always play fight or walk into her room while trying to turn off facetime, especially Alice! One time I was calling with her and she pointed her camera towards her cat, Alice and she was playing with a piece of pin, shiny plastic and purring while chasing it! The whole scene was so adorable! This shows that cats can be better pets than dogs and that they are not just aloof, fluffy creatures but friendly, adorable, cuddly and playful pets!
